Research Interests

My general research interest is in the psychological factors underlying engagement in behaviors that reduce the harms of substance use. I am particularly interested in applying self-determination theory to understand motivation for alcohol protective behavioral strategies. I am also interested in measurement and apply psychometric analyses to better understand measurement of constructs related to my content interests. The goal of my research is to inform person-centered interventions for addressing the public health burden of hazardous substance use.
